Home Affairs on services unavailable at Roodepoort office due to burglary

Unavailability of services at Roodepoort Home Affairs office due to a break-in on Sunday

Citizens and other clients of Home Affairs are advised that there has been a break-in at the Roodepoort Home Affairs office. During the burglary, which took place yesterday, computers were stolen. The Department is unable at this stage to say when services will resume, however, the intention is to resume service as soon as possible. The matter has been reported to the police.

Two KwaZulu-Natal learners to fly South African flag in Sweden 

The learners from the Star College High in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, were announced as the winners of the 20th National South African Youth Water Prize Competition (SAYWP) following their impressive innovation that went to the core of modernising water resource management efforts in the country.

The competition, which took place at the Kopanong Hotel in Benoni from 16 – 17 May 2019, saw learners from all over the country fighting it out to impress adjudicators on innovations relating to water and sanitation.

The Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Reginah Mhaule has encouraged young people to pursue careers in academia. This was after the University of Fort Hare awarded her with a Doctorate degree in Public Administration.
