Minister Angie Motshekga joins MEC Panyaza Lesufi in Tembisa as basic education sector begins Coronavirus COVID-19 vaccine rollout, 23 Jun

The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga will, tomorrow Wednesday 23 June 2021, join Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi at the Rabasotho Community Hall in Tembisa to mark the start of the vaccination programme in the basic education sector.

Leaders of teacher unions will be present together with the CEOs of entities such as the South African Council for Educators (SACE) as well ETDP-SETA CEO.

Minister Motshekga will proceed to visit other vaccination sites in Soweto and the Vaal.

Information Regulator invites applications for exemptions from condition for lawful processing of personal information

The Information Regulator may, in terms of Section 37(1) of POPIA and by notice in the Gazette, grant an exemption to a responsible party (public and private bodies) to process certain personal information even if that processing is in breach of a condition for the lawful processing of such information, or any measure that gives effect to such condition, if the Regulator is satisfied that, in the circumstances of the case-

The Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, Ms. Boitumelo Moloi will address Productivity SA Launch of  Switzerland 's Institute of Management Development (IMD) 's 2021 World Competitiveness Yearbook Survey (WCY).

The WCY ranking is an annual report on the competitiveness of selected countries and is recognised internationally as the leading executive opinion survey of competitiveness between nations. It rates the ability of 64 industrialised and emerging economies to create and maintain an environment that sustains the competitiveness of enterprises.

Rollout of vaccines to the education sector

Tomorrow, the Head of Education in the Province, Brent Walters will be joining union representatives, principal association members, teachers and public service staff to launch the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine to the education sector.

Initially, the launch was to take place on Friday, 23 June 2021, however, the Provincial Department of Health have informed us that they are ready to administer vaccines from tomorrow afternoon at a metro vaccination site. The rural sites will follow from 25 June 2021, as planned.

Employment and Labour Minister T.W Nxesi and CEE to unveil 21st Employment Equity Report on Transformation in the workplace

Employment and Labour Minister T.W Nxesi and the Commission for Employment Equity (CEE) will on 25 June 2021 officially unveil the 21st CEE Annual Report and the 2020 EE Public Register of all designated employers on the status of workplace transformation.

The report will provide an analysis on the employment equity status by providing a trend analysis over the past three years (2018-2021).
