SIU and Transnet welcome order to freeze luxury properties and pension benefits linked to Transnet executives

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) and Transnet SOC Limited (“Transnet”) have obtained a preservation order from the Special Tribunal to freeze five luxury properties in gated estates, and pension benefits valued at approximately R1.8 million, linked to Transnet executives and their spouses, pending the final determination of civil proceedings for recovery of damages or losses and disgorgement of secret profits.

City & WCG take another step towards safer communities with new LEAP deployment

On Thursday, 11 August, the Premier of the Western Cape Alan Winde and Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis will officially welcome the newest Law Enforcement Advancement Plan (LEAP) officers attached to Bishop Lavis and surrounds.

LEAP is a joint training initiative between the City and Western Cape government to deploy more law enforcement officers in hotspot communities, with the aim of making residents feel safer.

The National Department of Public Works and Infrastructure invites members of the media fraternity to accompany the Deputy Minister of the Department, Ms Noxolo Kiviet, as she undertakes a Pre-Imbizo site visit to work projects in the Sedibeng District of Gauteng.  

The sites that the Deputy Minister will visit are sites that the Department does work on in terms of its mandate of providing accommodation to the clients of the Department as well as those of providing critical skills to the economy.

North West Legislature SCOPA to Hold MFMA Public Hearing with Dr R. S. Mompati and Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipalities over 2020/21 Audit Reports 

The North West Provincial Legislature’ Standing Committee on Provincial Public Accounts will hold Municipal Finance Management Act public hearing with Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati and Ngaka Modiri District Municipalities over the 2020/21 audit reports and seek clarity of the responses of questions emanating from the Auditor General’s reports.
